Atalanta will be looking to put an end to their poor start to the 2024-25 campaign when they play host to Fiorentina on Sunday afternoon.
After receiving all kinds of praise for their performance in the Europa League final against Bundesliga champions Leverkusen in Dublin, Atalanta were expected to build on that this season but it's fair to say that they haven't managed to do so. Gian Piero Gasperini's side opened the campaign with a defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup final in Poland and have yet to fully recover, with the team winning just one of their three league games so far.
Fiorentina meanwhile have not had a disappointing start to the 2024-25 campaign, but neither have they been too bad. The Violets drew both legs of their Europa Conference League play-off tie against Puskas Akademia before winning on penalties and have also drawn all three of their Serie A games so far.

While Atalanta conceded four goals against champions Inter Milan last time out, the Nerazzurri are capable of scoring goals, as they showed on the opening day of the season with a four-goal thrashing of Lecce.
